Erin believes that good health moves beyond medication alone and includes a healthy mind, body, and spirit. She encourages her patients to get up, get out, and take advantage of everything our seaside community has to offer.
Erin Wax lives in Emerald Isle and enjoys spending time with her husband, four kids, large extended family, and dog named Daisy. She enjoys volunteering, music, cooking, biking, being outdoors, and spends most of her time at whatever activity her kids are into. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Salisbury University in Maryland in 1998. Erin worked as a nurse on a medical surgical floor and infectious disease unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland. Erin then graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in 2001 with her Masters of Science in Nursing, Clinical Specialist in HIV/AIDS and Health Systems Management. Erin was the nurse manager of an outpatient HIV/AIDS clinic at John’s Hopkins and enjoyed caring for patients living with HIV/AIDS and being involved in clinical research. Erin moved to North Carolina in 2003 and earned her Certification in Infection Control. She was an Infection Control Professional at Craven Medical Center prior to earning her post graduate certification from East Carolina University as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2010. Erin joined Carteret OBGYN as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2010. Erin has earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from University of North Carolina Wilmington in May 2020. Erin’s Doctoral project focused on improving obesity in rural women’s health practices. Erin has a special interest in primary care, adolescent health, fertility, and sexual dysfunction.

Tara Mitchell DNP, RN, FNP-BC is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has over 10 years experience in women’s health care including preventative care, health education and GYN care. Her experience also include managing routine obstetric patients as well as high risk obstetric care. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Tara spent 17 years as a RN in the birthing center at Carteret Health Care.

Rebecca enjoys contributing to the health and wellbeing of her patients by delivering compassionate care in a teamwork approach. She is happy to return to her home state of North Carolina and has a passion for women’s health. She is focused on teaching female patients how to maintain a life balance leading to optimal health: physically, mentally and emotionally.
Rebecca lives in Cape Carteret with her husband, five daughters, and her dog. She enjoys being active, biking, reading, cooking, fishing, and boating. She was born and raised in Raleigh. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2008 at North Carolina State University, where she was a Caldwell Fellow. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Nursing degree at Georgetown University in 2009. She worked in the Emergency Department in Virginia as a RN where she developed skills in acute and chronic care management. Her work motivated her to further her education and she received her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Vanderbilt University in 2013. She has practiced in Pennsylvania and Delaware at primary care and urgent care clinics, always focusing on women’s health. She is excited to be living at the coast of North Carolina and eager to help her patients meet their healthcare goals in this wonderful seaside community.

Chelsie has a passion for empowering women to become proactive in their healthcare and achieve a healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutrition. Chelsie became a nurse in 2014 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from East Carolina University in 2016. Upon graduation, Chelsie worked at Carteret Health Care as a Labor & Delivery nurse caring for mothers and babies. She continued to work in Labor & Delivery while achieving her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Duke University. She graduated in 2020 as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She and her husband enjoy spending time boating and soaking up the sun on the coast!

A Greenville, NC native! Katie now lives in Beaufort with her husband and son. She enjoys being outdoors, boating, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family & friends. She began her nursing career in 2009 after graduating with her associates degree in nursing. She earned her bachelor of science in nursing from East Carolina University in 2015. She always knew that she wanted to become a family nurse practitioner and went on to earn her master’s of science in nursing from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 2020. Katie is happy to be living at the beautiful Crystal Coast and looks forward to providing care to women of the community and helping them reach their healthcare needs!

Leslie has a background in Internal Medicine and has always had an interest in women’s health care. She is excited to work with women to help achieve their goals through all stages of life. Her goal is to promote healthy lifestyle to prevent chronic medical conditions with a team approach from the patient. Educating and providing all options to the patient are important to empower women to help direct their plan of care.
Being a New Bern native, she has always desired to be close to the coast. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking/hiking, boating, and reading. She received her undergraduate BS degree at NC State University in 1997 in Animal Science and went to PA school at East Carolina University, graduating in 2000. She started her career in Family Medicine and transitioned to Internal Medicine in 2007. She is married with 2 teenage children and has a black lab named Bandit.

Hannah lives in Morehead City with her husband, 3 year old daughter and dog named Cotton. She enjoys time on the water, traveling, painting and spending time with her family and friends. Hannah was born in St. Augustine, Florida and moved to the Crystal Coast when she was 15. She received her undergraduate nursing degree in New Bern and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winston-Salem.
She and her husband recently moved back to Morehead from Greenville where she was working at Vidant as a Cardiac RN until completing her Masters of Science in Nursing. She always knew she wanted to become a Family Nurse Practitioner and feels that as a woman we do not always put our health and well-being first, so as a provider, she would like to help change this. Hannah has a passion for supporting women to put their health first and looks forward to working with women in the area.
